About these calculators

Concrete is sold by volume and wasted by the barrow-load, so the arithmetic is worth doing twice. The concrete calculator converts slab, footing and column dimensions into cubic yards or metres and into bag counts, so you can compare mixing on site against ordering ready-mix.

The rest of this group covers the work around the pour — gravel base depth, fence post spacing and stair rise and run. Structural work must meet your local building code, and these figures are for planning and ordering, not a substitute for approved drawings.
